Post office temporarily closed due to medical emergency

CASTLEBAR Post Office was closed for a time early this afternoon due to a medical emergency.

An ambulance was summoned around midday after a customer became ill. The patient was tended to at the scene before being taken to the nearby Mayo University Hospital.

While the post office was temporarily closed a large queue of customers built up.

However, the post office returned to normal business after half an hour.
