Kilmaine gaa club pay tribute to late padraig odea
Kilmaine GAA Club have expressed their profound sadness and shock at the untimely passing of club player Padraig O’Dea, late of Cloonamealtogue, Kilmaine, who died following a tragic accident in London at the weekend.
The 26-year-old engineer died in a London hospital following injuries he sustained when he fell from the back of a moving taxi.
Padraig made an outstanding contribution to Kilmaine GAA Club during his life and gave great commitment as a footballer.
Above all he was a friend, and his untimely passing has brought great sorrow and grief to the Kilmaine GAA Club community.
Said a club spokesperson: “Padraig had a love of GAA and was a very happy character, whom people loved to be around.
“To his parents, Gerry and Teresa, his brother Gearoid, club supporters and friends, and his extended family and many friends, we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences. Please remember them all in your prayers.
“Padraig O’Dea had the heart of a lion on the field and was a gentleman off it. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.”
The funeral arrangements for Mr. O’Dea will be announced at a later date.
