Jewellery stolen in raid on former tds home
A BREAK-in last week at the home of former TD Beverley Flynn and her partner, Tony Gaughan, at Windsor, Castlebar, in which an amount of jewellery was stolen, is being investigated by gardaí.
The intruder or intruders gained entry to the house by forcing a window during daylight hours. Neither Ms. Flynn or Mr. Gaughan were in the property, which is situated about three miles from Castlebar, at the time.
The break-in occurred on Wednesday, September 24. A number of other domestic properties in the area - one in Castlebar and three in the Westport district – were also broken into on the same evening. It is believed all of the break-ins are connected.
A black Mercedes car, with a Carlow registration, possibly fitted with false number plates, was spotted in the Westport area around the time of the break-ins.
Gardaí at Castlebar - (094) 902222 - or Westport - (098) 25555 - would welcome any information.
