Missing mans body found

The body of a missing 26-year-old Co. Mayo man was discovered this morning (Thursday) in a house in the Springfield area of Castlebar.

Henry Byrne, originally from Cong on the Mayo/Galway border, had been missing since September 26.

A public appeal on his whereabouts had been issued by gardaí.

Officers say foul play is not suspected.

Due to the tragic death of Mr. Byrne, the Cong Festival - due to take place over this coming weekend - has been cancelled. The festival committee has expressed condolences to the deceased's family.
