Higgins boyle and oconnor reach for the stars
Mayo have been honoured with three selections in the 2014 football All-Stars.
Last year’s young player of the year, Cillian O’Connor, is among the six forwards that were named in the selection announced today. This is the Ballintubber man’s first All-Star award. He has twice been young player of the year.
O’Connor’s selection was widely anticipated in view of his outstanding performances for Mayo, who were knocked out the All-Ireland championship by Kerry in a replay.
Keith Higgins has also been honoured for his display at corner-back, winning his third award, while Davitts man, Colm Boyle, won his second award to bring Mayo’s total this year to three.
