County board chairman to step down
MAYO GAA County Board chairman Paddy McNicholas announced last night that he is to step down from his position at the end of this year at the county convention.
Mr. McNicholas, a native of Kiltimagh, had come in for some criticism in recent weeks for the way in which the appointment of a new Mayo senior squad managerial team of Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes was appointed following James Horan's decision to move aside.
However, after issuing an apology at last month's county board meeting, some delegates expressed the wish to move on from the matter - although two members of the executive resigned over the issue.
The county convention will take place before the end of this year.
