Unlawful killing verdict in chada brothers inquest hearing
A verdict of unlawful killing has been returned by the jury at an inquest in Castlebar today into the deaths of Eoghan and Ruairi Chada.
The inquest into the deaths of Eoghan and Ruairi, who were killed by their father last year, has heard how the little boys were discovered side by side in the boot of a crashed car at Rosbeg, Westport, on July 29 of last year.
Speaking after the inquest, Kathleen Chada thanked everyone who had supported her over the past 16 months.
She particularly thanked the staff at the mortuary at Mayo General Hospital who looked after her boys when she could not be with them.
“I know my boys were treated with dignity and respect in what were very difficult times for everyone,” Mrs. Chada continued.
“To say I have been through hell in the past 15 months would be an understatement,” she added.
Eoghan (10) and five-year-old Ruairi died on July 29, 2013, at the hands of their father Sanjeev in a location which has been identified as the townland of Skehanagh, Ballintubber, near Castlebar.
He was jailed for life last month for the murders.
