Promoter is moving westport music festival to killarney

The promoters behind the Westport Festival of Music & Food have today announced that the festival will return in 2015 - however it is relocating to Killarney in Co. Kerry.

After three fantastic years in Westport, the promoters say they have made the difficult decision to move the popular boutique festival.

The festival will take place on the weekend of June 27 and 28 but it will be rebranded as the Killarney Festival of Music & Food.  

A spokesperson for Westport House, where the festival has been located for the past number of years, said they were very disappointed with today’s announcement but they wished the promoters well.

The loss of the festival is a huge blow to Westport. This year's event, which attracted 20,000 music fans to the town, featured Bryan Adams, David Gray, Sinead O’Connor, Kool & The Gang, Shane Filan, 2Cellos, Bell X1 and The Divine Comedy.
