Weekly rheumatology clinic for mayo general hospital

Arthritis Ireland has welcomed Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s announcement this morning that there will be a weekly rheumatology clinic at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar.

Underlining the urgent need for this service, Arthritis Ireland is calling on the HSE to honour the Taoiseach’s commitment of having this service in place ‘within the next couples of months’.

A statement issued on behalf of the organisation added: “It is also important to note that the one weekly clinic promised falls far short of the recommended service of a full-time post in Mayo General Hospital, including an infusion service.”
