Council plan for kiltimagh playground
MAYO County Council has entered negotiations with IRD Kiltimagh over the prospect of making a privately-owned outdoor playground in the town available for use free of charge to children of the locality.
It is understood the move has been initiated to avoid the council having to invest in the provision of an alternative playground in the east Mayo town.
Sinn Féin Councillor Thérése Ruane claimed IRD Kiltimagh refused to budge in the past when a similar approach was made.
It was essential, she added, the facility would be open to the public 24/7.
