Applegreen set to open in swinford

Fuel group Applegreen is to establish its first outlet in Co. Mayo – at a disused filling station and shop on the N5 near Swinford.

Recruitment is underway for the development at Carrabawn, on the Swinford to Kiltimagh road.

The company has posted a notice at the location looking for workers.

The Swinford site was formerly occupied by Chambers’ Garage but the enterprise closed down some years ago.

Already Applegreen employ several hundred personnel at 90 locations throughout Ireland.

As yet there is no firm indication of exactly how many jobs will be created but one source predicts the payroll will be in excess of double figures.
