Castlebar to get new ida advanced technology building

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has announced that the IDA will deliver an advanced technology building in Castlebar Technology Park in the Breaffy Road in the coming year.

The development is one of three new units that will be delivered nationally this year by the IDA – the other two are in Sligo and Tralee.

The IDA will market the buildings on a cross-sector basis to multinationals predominantly in the life-sciences, ICT, engineering and services sector.

The new facility will have the capacity to support direct employment in Castlebar of between 100 and 300 jobs, depending on the activity secured. There will also be the associated jobs in the construction of the unit.
