Garda seek witnesses after man is found unconscious with head injuries

GARDAÍ are keeping an open mind on the discovery of a young man with a serious head injury in James Street, Caremorris, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man, who is in his late 20s, was brought to Mayo General Hospital for treatment

From the injury sustained, it isn’t clear whether the victim fell, was involved in some kind of road accident or was assaulted.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who were in the vicinity of James Street between 4 a.m. and 4.15 a.m. on Sunday to contact them at (094) 9371222.

CCTV footage from the area is also being scrutinised by investigating officers.
