Man rearrested over attack on tds office
A FILE is being prepared for the DPP in relation to an arson attack on the constituency office of Mayo Fine Gael TD Michelle Mulherin late last month.
This follows the rearrest and questioning of a 39-year-old man by gardaí in Ballina over the weekend. He was later released.
Firemen were called on January 27 to deal with an outbreak at Deputy Mulherin’s office on John Street, Ballina. It is believed that a petrol bomb type device was thrown at the building.
The incident occurred days after it emerged that Deputy Mulherin made calls from Leinster House to a private phone in Kenya costing more than €2,000.
However, there is no suggestion of the incidents being linked in any way.
