Whistleblast quartet ready for mulranny church performance
The WhistleBlast Quartet will be performing in the wonderful setting of Mulranny Church on Friday (March 20) at 6 p.m.
Do come along for this free concert - suitable for all ages - promising a blast of live music to brighten up your weekend. Everybody is welcome.
Existing WhistleBlast members Ken Edge (saxophones and clarinet), Mary Curran (French horn) and Síle Daly (oboe and cor anglais) are delighted to welcome Conor Linehan as the new pianist to complete the quartet.
Conor and his colleagues will play all types of music from Gershwin to Stravinsky to Offenbach and much more at Friday night's show. The exciting and diverse programme will appeal to everybody.
Children from Mulranny National School will also perform a unique short piece of their own composition as the grand finale. Every child in Mulranny National School is getting involved in three days of interactive live music sessions with the quartet as part of this exciting programme, learning about many musical concepts and getting the opportunity to perform live to the wider community.
The quartet prides itself on making live classical music accessible to all, so do check out the concert for some fun and great music.
Meanwhile, look out for WhistleBlast’s 'Peter and the Wolf' as part of its family concert series in the NCH on Saturday (March 21) at noon and 1.30 p.m. For more information on all events, see www.whistleblastquartet.com and www.whistleblastfamilyfestival.com.
