Mayos goalkeeping musical chairs to continue against donegal
BALLINROBE custodian Kenneth O’Malley is back between the posts as the Mayo management team continue their goalkeeping musical chairs ahead of Sunday’s make-or-break Allianz National Football League clash against Donegal at Elverys MacHale Park.
His return, in place of David Clarke, is the only change from the side which started last Sunday in the narrow defeat at the hands of Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn, an injury time goal by Brian Hurley denying Mayo all three points.
In a clear vote of confidence, Castlebar’s Danny Kirby retains his place at full-forward, while the towering midfield pairing of Tom Parsons and Barry Moran deservedly gets another run.
The Mayo starting XV: is Kenneth O’Malley (Ballinrobe), Ger Cafferkey (Ballina Stephenites), Kevin Keane (Westport), Keith Higgins (Ballyhaunis), Lee Keegan (Westport), Colm Boyle (Davitts), Donal Vaughan (Ballinrobe), Barry Moran (Castlebar Mitchels), Tom Parsons (Charlestown Sarsfields), Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore), Aidan O’Shea (Breaffy), Jason Doherty (Burrishoole), Mark Ronaldson (Shrule/Glencorrib), Danny Kirby (Castlebar Mitchels), Alan Dillon (Ballintubber).
Meanwhile, Donegal have made just two changes from the side that overpowered Tyrone last weekend, with Paddy McGrath and Colm McFadden coming in for the injured Neil Gallagher and the suspended Michael Murphy.
