Westport united pull off management coup

MAYO Super League champions Westport United Football Club have appointed former Galway United boss John Brennan as the club's new manager.

Brennan has a wealth of experience in coaching and playing. Apart from managing Galway United in the League of Ireland, he played at that level for Sligo Rovers, Shamrock Rovers and Salthill Devon. 

He holds the UEFA Pro Licence coaching qualification alongside the UEFA A badge. He is a former director of coaching at Salthill Devon FC and has been involved in a process that produced a number of underage players who represented the Republic of Ireland at underage level.

Brennan takes up his duties at the Sports Park later this month.
