Summer sun is finally here
SUMMER appears to have finally arrived in Mayo, and it looks like the best of the weather is heading west.
With just occasional showers this afternoon, Met Éireann report that tomorrow (Tuesday) will be generally dry, with better sunshine overall and highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.
The outlook for Wednesday and Thursday is for dry weather, with light easterly winds and good spells of sunshine. Temperatures are set to reach 20 or 21 degrees in the west – a few degrees ahead of the east coast, where it will only be 16 or 17 degrees due to the onshore breeze.
High pressure continuing should maintain settled weather across the country over the weekend. However, there is the risk of an occasional heavy/thundery shower on Friday across the south of the country. Temperatures are set to remain around 20 degrees with east to northeasterly breezes.
Predictions for early next week are that the weather is still looking settled.
