Man killed in mayo road accident

 

A MAN has died as a result of a road accident near the village of Knockmore, Co. Mayo.

Gardaí in the Ballina District have confirmed to The Connaught Telegraph that the tragedy occurred earlier today as a result of the man being apparently knocked down by a lorry.

Emergency services were called to the scene. No further details are available at this stage. The Health & Safety Authority has been informed and technical examinations are underway.

Gardaí have confirmed that road diversions are in place.
