Passing of irish guide dogs association pioneer
THE death has taken place of Mrs. Catherine Maeve O’Callaghan (better known as Maeve) nee Gormley, 24 McHale Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Churchtown Avenue, Dublin 14.
The deceased helped pioneer the establishment of the Irish Guide Dogs Association in Mayo and organised their annual collections in the area for many years.
Her passing at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar, has evoked widespread regret and sympathy is extended to her family on their loss.
Her remains will be reposing at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Friday evening from 5.30 with removal at 7.30 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, via McHale Road, arriving at 8.15 p.m.
Funeral Mass takes place on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery.
