Ornaments stolen from graves

ORNAMENTS have been stolen from a cemetery in Castlebar, causing deep upset for the families whose loved ones are buried there.

The issue was raised at a Castlebar Municipal District meeting by Councillor Michael Kilcoyne who called for the erection of CCTV cameras at the New Cemetery in Castlebar due to ornaments being stolen from graves.

He said: “It’s disgraceful what’s happening and families are getting very upset.

“A stop has to be put to it once and for all and CCTV is the only answer.”
