Body recovered in north mayo search

GARDAÍ in Belmullet, Co. Mayo, have confirmed a body has been recovered during a search for a missing Geesala woman.

The body was taken from the shore at Barna Island yesterday evening.

Gardaí and local volunteers had been carrying out a search for 53-year-old Margaret Carolan who had been missing from her home in Geesala since earlier this week.

Gardai thanked all the volunteers who helped in the search operation.
