Womans body taken from river moy

THE body of a woman was taken shortly before midday today from the River Moy in Ballina.

It is understood that the remains are those of an elderly person.

There had been no reports of any missing person prior to the body being spotted in the weaterway close to Ballina town centre.

Efforts are being made to identify the person involved. Gardai at Ballina (096-21422) would welcome any information.
