Ashford castle listed among the worlds elite hotels
ICONIC Cong hotel Ashford Castle has just been appointed number three in the top 100 hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure, the prestigious New York travel publication, in their World’s Best Awards 2015.
The magnificent property in south Mayo, which recently re-opened after a multi-million euro restoration, has also been awarded number two resort property in Europe.
The estate, which nestles along the banks of Lough Corrib, sits alongside other luxurious properties within the Red Carnation Hotel collection, including the 41 Hotel (number 11) and The Milestones Hotel (number 66). Egerton House Hotel (number 38), also owned by the Tollman family, appeared for the first time on the list.
Commenting on the awards, Niall Rochford, general manager of Ashford Castle, says: “These awards reinforce the commitment and dedication of our devoted staff, who always strive to surpass guests’ expectations. It also reflects the investment by the Tollman family in invigorating and restoring this beloved property.”
Ashford Castle was officially re-opened in April and now boasts an impressive array of new additions and amenities, including a 32-seat cinema, billiards room, cigar terrace and children’s games room. This will guarantee that the legacy of luxury, history and outstanding attention to detail continues in this exquisite and multi-award winning property.
