Bronze olympic medal for mayo athlete
CASTLEBAR'S Martina Walsh has taken a bronze medal at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
She did so in the doubles bowling event along with her partner Ruth Geerah from Mullingar.
There were great scenes of joy among the Mayo continent at the event when Martina's success was confirmed.
Team Ireland’s claimed its first gold medal at the eventwhen 21-year-old gymnast Kirsty Devlin from Belfast was successful in the Rope competition in Gymnastics Rhythmic Level One.
