Five injured in three vehicle smash

FIVE people were taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar following a three vehicle collision in Charlestown early this afternoon (Wednesday).

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The collision, which happened around midday in the Lowpark area of the town, involved a camper van, a truck and a car.

There were five passengers in the camper van, according to gardaí.

In total, the three vehicles involved carried eight persons.

Traffic diversions are in place in the Lowpark area of Charlestown following the impact.
