Huge demand for tickets
THE Connaught Telegraph has learned that the demand for tickets for tomorrow's Croke Park triple-header is exceeding all expectations.
It's certain to be an extremely busy day at GAA headquarters, with the two All-Ireland football quarterfinals between Monaghan and Tyrone and Mayo versus Donegal plus the All-Ireland junior championship final between Mayo and Kerry all taking place. The action gets underway at 2 p.m. with the junior decider.
By lunchtime today (August 7) more than 60,000 tickets had been sold for the triple-header, and this figure is expected to rise between now and lunchtime tomorrow (August 8).
With the massive interest in all three games, motorists from Mayo driving up to the capital are advised to leave that bit earlier as traffic jams along the route to Dublin can be expected.
