Castlebar student has top leaving cert result in ireland with 925 points
A STUDENT of St. Gerald's College, Castlebar, has achieved the top Leaving Certificate examination result in the country.
David Glynn registered a remarkable 925 points after securing A1s in nine subjects, bonus points of 25 being accomplished for his marks in higher level maths.
An amazing feature of David's success was the fact he got an A1 in Japanese - which he studied outside the school curriculum.
His other subjects, apart from maths, English and Irish, were applied maths, physics, chemistry, French and music.
Mr. Daniel Hyland, principal, St. Gerald's College, said he and his staff were proud of David's success and were delighted in general with results at the college.
'What David did was exceptional,' he added.
A son of Peter Glynn and Bertha Munnelly, Maryland, Castlebar, David is wished every success in the future. He is planning to study maths at Trinity College, Dublin.
