Clamping to recommence at mayo shopping complex

CLAMPING of cars is set to recommence tomorrow (Monday) morning at the Royal Quarter in Castlebar for those failing to comply with pay and display regulations.

A sign (pictured) was erected at the location earlier today.

However, according to a member of Mayo County Council, the move is contrary to the undertaking given in writing to the authority by the principals of the Royal Quarter.

Stated Councillor Michael Kilcoyne: 'If this happens I expect Mayo County Council to immediately seek an injunction against the clamping.

'At the July meeting of the Castlebar Municipal District it was agreed to seek independent legal advise on this matter.'
