Memorial erected to mayo woman missing for 15 years
THE family of Mayo woman Sandra Collins, who went missing 15 years ago, have renewed their appeal for anybody with information to come forward.
A memorial plaque was unveiled later today at Killala Pier where her family believe she met her death.
The 28-year-old was last seen in the village in north Mayo in December 2000.
Her fleece jacket was later found on the pier but her body has never been recovered.
In a trial last year, a man was acquitted of her murder due to insufficient evidence.
The Collins family have said they will never give up hope of finding her body and have appealed for anybody who might have information to come forward.
A service to commemorate Ms Collins was held at St Tiernan’s Church in Crossmolina and a plaque to her memory was unveiled at Killala Pier.
