Water disruption across west mayo

MAYO County Council is today dealing with a major water disruption problem. 

Consumers on the Tourmakeady-Castlebar water supply scheme have been advised of a burst on the water mains.

Consequently, supply is disrupted in the Ballyheane, Balla, Mayo Abbey areas as well as in parts of Castlebar, Westport and Islandeady.

There are reserves of water in place in the Westport and Castlebar areas and therefore many areas will not be without water but may experience low pressure during the day.
