Young man dies in road accident

ROAD diversions are still in place on the N84 outside Ballinrobe following a fatal road accident late last night (Sunday).

A young man, understood to be from the Kilmaine/Shrule area, died after his car hit a wall. A male passenger in the car also sustained injuries. He is recovering at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar.

Gardaí haven't released the victim's name.

The accident occurred around half ten about a mile south of Ballinrobe. Traffic to and from Galway is being diverted via The Neale, Cross and Glencorrib.
