Four mayo finalists in the 2015 sky bar of the year awards

THE finalists for the 2015 Sky Bar of the Year Awards have been revealed, and four Mayo establishments are among the 80-plus nominees in the various categories.

Flanagan's Gastro Pub, Brickens (between Claremorris and Ballyhaunis), has been short-listed in three categories: Bar Food of the Year, Connaught Bar of the Year and Country Bar of the Year.

The other three Mayo finalists are all Westport pubs. The Porter House is a finalist in two categories - Connaught Bar of the Year and Music Venue of the Year - while The Maple Bar at Hotel Westport is among the Connaught Bar of the Year nominees and Cosy Joe's Limited is in the Music Venue of the Year final nine.

Now in their 10th year, the awards recognise excellence in the licensing trade industry. The Sky Bar of the Year Awards acknowledge the outstanding work in the industry throughout the country. 

The winners will be announced at the 10th annual awards ceremony next Monday, September 7, at The Mansion House, Dublin, hosted by Newstalk's Tom Dunne.
