Breadski brothers reach food award finals
THESE are exciting times for the fabulously named Breadski Brothers, the Castlebar-based bakers.
One of their new 'That Bread' range - The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries - has reached the finals of the Blás na hÉireann national food awards. This comes hot on the heels of the same product being shortlisted for the finals of the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards.
The Breadski Brothers are brothers Magic, Mark and Martin, who moved to Ireland from Poland a decade ago. They quickly established themselves as successful bakers for the Polish market in Ireland, supplying over 250 stores countrywide, and recently decided to launch a range for Irish taste buds.
That Bread was launched earlier this year by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
Three breads comprise That Bread - The White One with the Sunny Sesame Seeds, The Brown One with the Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, and The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries. Each is available in a 400g sliced pan packed on a card tray, with a re-sealable clip and a quirky 'Breaducation' leaflet with interesting facts about bread. They are available in SuperValu and other stores countrywide.
The winners of the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards will be announced at a gala event in the Mansion House, Dublin, on Wednesday, September 16. The Blás na hÉireann national food awards take place on the first weekend of October.
Watch out for The Breadski Brothers - they're going places fast!
