Woman dies following ballina accident

A 70-year-old woman has died following a road accident last night in Ballina (Thursday).

She has not yet been named by gardaí pending notification of all relatives.

The victim received injuries which later proved fatal when struck by a truck while crossing the road at Emmett Street around 9.20 p.m.

Gardaí at Ballina (096-21422) are appealing for witnesses.
