Woman injured in ballina collision

AN elderly woman is in a serious condition following a road collision in Ballina last night.

The collision occurred at around 9.20 p.m. on Emmet Street when a car struck the woman.

She was taken to hospital where her condition was described as serious.

Gardaí confirmed a forensic collision examination has been carried out on Emmet Street and it has reopened to traffic.
