Death of mayo centenarian bridget frain

CENTENARIAN Bridget Frain died over the weekend at the residence in Milebush, Castlebar, of her niece, Kathleen and John Burke.

Bridget, who would have been 101 in November, was a native of Ballinvoher, Kilmovee.

One of a family of six daughters born to Patrick and Ellen O’Gara, she was predeceased in 1979 by her husband, Martin.

Bridget’s 100th birthday last November was marked by a celebration in The Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, attended by relatives, neighbours and family friends.

She attributed her long life to hard work, plain food, not worrying too much and practising her religion.

Her remains will be reposing at Kilgarriff’s Funeral Home, Market Street, Ballaghaderreen, tomorrow (Monday) evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock with removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kilmovee, arriving at 7.30.

Bridget will be laid to rest on Tuesday in Naomh MobhÍ Cemetery, Kilmovee, following Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul.
