Victim of road accident to be laid to rest

THE former secondary schoolteacher from Corrimbla South, Ballina, who died in a road accident on Thursday night last, will be laid to rest tomorrow (Monday) in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.

 Kathleen Slack (70) was seriously injured around 9.20 p. m.  on Thursday when she was struck by a truck while crossing the road at Emmett Street, Ballina.

 She died from her injuries later in hospital.

 Mrs. Slack (nee Lynott) taught Business Studies at St. Mary’s Secondary School, Ballina, up to her retirement some years ago.

 She is survived by her husband, Michael, sons, Brendan, Conor and Barry and daughters, Una and Ailish .

 Kathleen’s tragic death has brought immense grief not alone to her family and other relatives but also the wider community and her former work colleagues and friends.
