Womans purse stolen in kiltimagh by car fixer
A 79-year-old woman had a purse stolen in Kiltimagh on Friday after a “Good Samaritan” offered to fix her car which was allegedly broken.
The man approached his victim in Thomas Street and told her one of the wheels of her car was loose and offered to fix it.
He then sat into the car to drive it to “a garage” but the owner, who was seated in the front passenger seat, became suspicious and demanded he stop the vehicle.
The driver, who is in his forties, did stop but made off with the woman's purse.
The victim raised the alarm in a local shop and gardaí were notified.
