Death of former mayo businessman

THE death has taken place of John (Johnny) Mulloy, Carrowbaun, and formerly of M. Mulloy & Sons., Shop Street, Westport.

The deceased was one of the best known businessmen in the west of Ireland.

The Mulloys had the leading hardware business in Westport for many years with branches at Newtown, Castlebar, and Sligo.

The remains of John Mulloy will reposing at his residence this afternoon (Sunday) from 3 o’clock with removal to St. Mary’s Church, Westport arriving 7 o’clock.

Requiem Mass takes place on Monday morning at 11 o’clock with the funeral proceeding to Aughavale Cemetery.

He is survived by his children Frank (Dublin), Maire (Germany), Sheila (Westport), Eithne (Limerick), Evleen (Westport), Onóra (Galway), John and Michael (Westport) and extended families, to whom sympathy is tendered.

In his 95th year, John was predeceased by his wife Sheila (Nee O’Malley).
