Mayo band to headline in dublin

THE fast-rising Mayo band EDS (Everyday Solution) is to play their first headlining gig in the capital when they major at the Grand Social in Dublin on November 14.

The latest move follows the huge success EDS enjoyed in Vicar Street, playing to 1,500 in August. The band have also just completed two other big touring dates with HomeTown, having played support at Cork Opera House and UCH Limerick.

EDS have been in the studio recently recording songs for an EP and will release their first single in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the Grand Social gig - a 2 p.m. afternoon show, which will be open to all ages – are on sale via Ticketmaster for €12. The Grand Social is one of Dublin’s most popular and fashionable music venues, located in the city centre at the Ha’penny Bridge on Liffey Street.

The five EDS boys hail from Swinford and lead singer, Aaron Sweeney, has just finished his Leaving Cert. The band have been together since 2010, having formed when they were all at secondary school in Swinford.

The band has a strong, and growing, local fan base, gigging extensively locally, and they have played support on numerous times in 2015 for Louis Walsh managed HomeTown. In August, they became one of Mayo’s first acts to play the prestigious Dublin venue Vicar Street.
