Famous west yorkshire brass band to stage mayo concert

HERE’S great news for lovers of brass band music in the west of Ireland.

The world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band from West Yorkshire is to perform a concert in Castlebar in November.

Two members of the band - Dean Redfern and Chris Harding (pictured by Alison Laredo) - joined with members of Castlebar Concert Band, Foxford Reel and Brass Band and Ballina Brass Band for a 90-minute street performance at Ellison Street, Castlebar, to promote the Brighouse and Rastrick concert in the TF Royal Theatre on Sunday afternoon, November 22, at 2.30 p.m.

All proceeds are in aid of a new state-of-the-art facility being provided by the Mayo Academy of Performing Arts at Breaffy Road Business Park in Castlebar. Tickets for the concert are available from Downtown Records, Ticketmaster.ie and the TF Royal box office.
