Come home to jobs fine gael td tells mayo emigrants
MAYO Fine Gael Deputy Michelle Mulherin has encouraged young emigrants from the county to return home to what she described as ‘a recovering jobs market’.
The Ballina-based TD elaborated: 'The Live Register figures released this week show that job creation measures are paying real dividends for Mayo, with 893 more people working in Mayo since last month. The Mayo Live Register figure has decreased 22.12% since February 2012, when the government launched its Action Plan for Jobs.
'The government is on track to replace all the jobs lost in the crisis and to bring about a situation where there will be more Irish people coming back home to take up jobs. I look forward to seeing more Mayo young people returning home where they belong.
'While we know that not every family has felt the benefits yet, this week the government announced a €27 billion six-year capital investment plan to help with the ongoing work to secure the recovery to restore all the jobs lost in the recession by 2018 and to get unemployment down to 6% by 2020.'
