Death of retired mayo solicitor
THE death has taken place of Maire Gilmartin (nee MacHale), Patrician Park, Newport Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Galway City.
A retired solicitor, she was held in the highest esteem within legal circles and the community at large. She had been attached to the firm of Thomas J. Walsh Solicitors, Castlebar, for many years. Previous to that, she worked for O'Malley Solicitors, Market Square, Castlebar.
She is survived by her husband Joe, former vice-principal of St. Gerald’s College, Castlebar, daughters Emer and Máire, and sons Eoin, Martin, Ivor and Brendan.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Naoise, Martina, Patrick and Ainara, daughters-in-law Emer and Natalia, son-in-law Adrian, sister-in-law Kay, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Her remains will be reposing at the Coady Funeral Home, Castlebar, this evening (Sunday) from 6 until 7.30 p.m.
Burial takes place in the New Cemetery, Castlebar, following 11 o’clock Mass on Monday at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
