Mayo firms exhibiting at web summit
THE renowned Web Summit kicks off again next week and five of the GMIT iHub clients will be exhibiting at the event, where over 30,000 people have registered to attend. The five are Happy Marketing & Media, Tr3Dent, Trafficattic, Taxhug and GIRT.
Buymedia.ie, the media buying arm of Happy Marketing and Media, has been selected as an Alpha start up and awarded a place at the summit. Happy Marketing & Media was founded in September and is already helping businesses big and small to raise their game when it comes to content marketing and media buying.
Having worked in the media industry for over 22 years, Fergal O’Connor saw that businesses were struggling to develop properly planned marketing campaigns and then to buy the right media at the best price. Using his knowledge of the Irish and international media landscape, O’Connor has developed a business team and partners that can provide an a-z service for Irish businesses to help them drive more customers to their business and ultimately increase their sales and profits.
Tr3Dent will launch their latest enhancements to their 3D visualisation suite. The company is uniquely using 3D gaming technologies that enable businesses to see their data in a natural 3D environment. Tr3Dent has worked with MTN, Software AG and Huawei and has enabled them visualise their data in ways never seen before.
Trafficattic gives consumers an opportunity to 'buy local online' and support Irish businesses, whether you live in Ireland or abroad. They have a unique combination of products (e.g. cosmetics, jewellery, personalised gifts, baby products and much more) supplied by Irish companies, which makes this the perfect online shopping website to buy all your Christmas gifts this year.
It offers all the benefits of online shopping such as convenience, selection and competitive prices whilst also promoting Irish businesses and supporting Irish jobs.
Last April, Trafficattic.com celebrated its one-year anniversary as Ireland’s fastest growing online shopping marketplace.
Taxhug, who participated on the New Frontiers 2013 programme, are also exhibiting. David O’Sullivan (MD) was convinced there was a better way to claim back tax other than filling out the complicated tax form. He knew that more people would be inclined to claim tax back if the process was made more accessible and user-friendly. With TaxHug, the user answers some simple questions, and within minutes, they know what their refund is, for free. TaxHug have transformed the tax refund process.
GIRT provide and develop mobile apps and websites for Irish, British and American clients who require an online and mobile presence. They also provide online banking systems for both credit unions and building societies in Ireland, the UK and the US as well as providing a number of geolocation, radio, vehicle management and mobile payment based applications.
GIRT will be launching an app at Web Summit of significant relevance to the Irish Diaspora
Speaking on behalf of GMIT iHubs, Maria Staunton said: “Web Summit is known as the best technology conference on the planet, with many companies securing their first major investor or sales contract. We are excited to attend and be associated with the event.”
