Varying cost of petrol

WHAT a difference a mile makes when it comes to buying petrol in Castlebar.

One local motorist found that on October 22 a filling station close to the town centre was selling petrol for €1.32.9 per litre while a second one, perhaps a mile away, was offering the fuel for €1.23.9 - nine cents less.

Needless to say, our friend opted for the latter, saving €2.50 on a €30 outlay in the process.
