Burglar disturbed by owner of house in Charlestown

AN elderly Charlestown resident disturbed an intruder who broke into the home he shares with his wife at Barrack Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The raider fled after the victim came downstairs from his bedroom and shouted at him.

Gardaí say some 'small items of property' were stolen. No violence was shown to the house owner.

Gardaí don't have any precise information about the intruder except that he was tall and wearing dark clothes.
