Outrage over firework being placed in dogs mouth
STRONG condemnation has been aired following reports that a dog had a firework placed in its mouth at a housing estate in Ballina.
North West SPCA, which is based in the town, has appealed for anybody with information to contact the organisation in confidence,
'If there is a badly injured dog somewhere he must have treatment,' a Facebook post by the group stated.
Those with information should contact (087) 6239827.
There has been firm criticism of the incident since it was first highlighted on November 6.
One person who commented on Facebook said: 'It was probably done by the same group of lads I witnessed throwing a firework out of a moving car and almost hitting a boy walking in an estate.
'If they could throw it at a child without considering the damage it could have done, they will have no regard for a dog.' Another stated: 'That’s absolutely disgusting.'
