WhistleBlast school concerts precede nationwide Christmas tour
WHISTLEBLAST Quartet will perform two pre-tour concerts for the students of St. Angela’s Primary School, St. Pat’s Boys National School and St. Brid's Special School in Castlebar on Monday (November 23). The shows will be performed at 11.30 a.m. and 2.10 p.m.
Outreach and education work is always at the core of WhistleBlast's mission and they are delighted to share the Nutcracker Concert Tour with these national schools before they head off to Listowel, the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Galway, Ennis and Ballina.
Unfortunately, Monday's concerts are not open to the public. They are funded by the Quartet's sponsors and generously hosted by the Linenhall Arts Centre.
The show presents Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker narrated and performed by the WhistleBlast Quartet. Arranged by the Quartet’s acclaimed Ken Edge, this sparkling Christmas show will also include 'Gabriel’s Oboe', 'Sleigh Ride' and popular carols. Bells and singing will feature and the audience can join in.
The show, which comes to Ballina Arts Centre on Friday, December 18, is suitable for all the family, and all are welcome. For more details, see www.whistleblastquartet.com.
