Mayo train passengers endure most delays

IRISH Rail has revealed one of the worst performing routes in the county last year was the service to Mayo customers.

The company confirmed the most frequent delays occurred on the Westport to Heuston Station line with trains on that route delayed by at least 10 minutes 194 times.

The Dart had the next highest percentage of delays with almost six per cent of trains delayed.

The Rosslare-Connolly line, Western Railway Corridor and the Galway-Heuston routes had the next highest percentage of delays.
